Old Home Creme Cakes Recalled for Undeclared Peanut

RecallOld Home Kitchens of Bogart, Ga. has issued a recall for lemon creme cake, vanilla creme cake and strawberry swirl creme cake because they contain undeclared peanuts. Consumers with an allergy or sensitivity to peanuts should not eat these products as they risk a severe or life-threatening reaction if they do.

The recalled product, “Old Home Kitchens 14oz. Sliced Lemon Crème Cake” has the production code 16104; the “Old Home Kitchens 14oz. Sliced Vanilla Crème Cake” has the production code 16104;  and the  “Old Home Kitchens 14oz. Sliced Strawberry Swirl Crème Cake” has the production code 16098. They were sold in multiple retail locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported. The recall was issued after Old Home Kitchens was informed by  a supplier, CSM Bakery Solutions, that an ingredient potentially contained a peanut allergen that was not declared on the label.
