Pistachios Recalled, May be Linked to Salmonella Outbreak

Wonderful Pistachios is recalling a limited number of flavors and sizes of in-shell and shelled pistachios because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. According to the CDC, some of these products may be linked to a Salmonella outbreak in the U.S.

You can see the long list of recalled products, along with the brand name, UPC number, package size, code date, and lot number at the FDA web site. The brand names include Wonderful, Paramount Farms, and Trader Joe’s. The recalled products include Roasted No Salt Inshell Pistachios, Roasted Salt and Pepper Inshell Pistachios, Roasted Salted Inshell Pistachios, and Roasted Sweet Chili Pistachios, among others.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed container so other people and animals can’t eat them, or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. You can also get a refund by sending the bottom portion of the package back to Wonderful Pistachios. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling this product.
