Raw Pistachio Products Recalled for Possible Salmonella

Lipari Foods of Michigan is voluntarily recalling various raw pistachio products packaged by sister company JLM because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. There are no reported illnesses in connection with the consumption of these products.

Blue Goose Nut Mix Salmonella RecallThe products were sold in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. And these products were distributed under these brand names: Blue Goose Market, Hollywood Market, Market Fresh Fine Foods, Roger’s Foodland, Marv & Alison’s Marketplace, Long Lake Market, Martin’s, Holiday Market, The Purple Onion, Trentwood Farms, Angeli Foods, Market Square, Village Food Market, Martha’s Vineyard, Remke Market, or as a generic product without branding.

These products include Fancy Fruit & Mix Mix, Pistachios Raw Whole Shelled, and Pistachio Meat Raw. You can see the product number, lot number, package size, best by date, where they were sold, and the UPC number at the FDA web site. You can also see the pictures of the recalled product packages at that site.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed or double bagged container, or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. If you aren’t sure whether or not you bought any of the recalled products because some of them were sold as generics, contact your retailer.
