Recall of Fjord Laks Products for Botulism Updated

The Canadian recall of products from Fjord Laks for possible botulism contamination has been updated to include another product. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The products are sold in the refrigerated section in supermarkets in Quebec.

You can see the original recall for three other products at the CFIA web site. This recall adds Fjord Laks Scottish Smoked Salmon in 100 gram containers. All Best Before dates up to and including July 18, 2016 are recalled. The UPC number on the product is variable.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund.

Botulism does not change the flavor, smell, appearance, or texture of foods, but a very tiny amount can kill. The symptoms of botulism food poisoning include blurred or double vision, dry mouth, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and fatigue. If you experience any of these symptoms, see a doctor immediately.
