Rold Gold Snacks Recalled for Undeclared Peanut

Frito-Lay is recalling some dates and codes of Rold Gold Tiny Twists, Rold Gold Thins, Rold Gold Sticks and Rold Gold Honey Wheat Braided for undeclared peanuts, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to peanuts could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. This recall is directly related to the company’s flour supplier, who recently recalled their product for undeclared peanut residue. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Important Notice Recall

The recalled products were sold in retail stores and via foodservice and vending machines throughout the country. They have “guaranteed fresh” dates ranging from June 28, 2016 – August 23, 2016 on the front of the package. Right underneath that date is a 9-digit manufacturing code that includes the numbers “32” in the second and third position, i.e. x32xxxxxx.

Products without that 32 number in the second and third positions of the code are not recalled.

The Rold Gold Tiny Twists are also included in some multipacks. These have “use by” dates on the front of the package. Next to or underneath this date is an 11-digit manufacturing code that includes the letter combinations AM, TO, QH, QC, or SW in the second and third position, i.e. xQHxxxxxxxx. These products include 20 ounce Baked & Popped Mix, with use by dates from May 31 to July 26, 2016; 20 count SunChips & Rold Gold Mix with use by dates from June 14 – August 9, 2016.
