Salmonella Recall for Frontier Co-op Organic Hojicha Tea

Frontier Co-op is recalling its Organic Hojicha Tea for potential Salmonella contamination. Consumers who have purchased this product should not drink it as Salmonella can cause serious illness.

At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported in connection with the product. Consumers who drank the recalled tea should watch themselves for symptoms of a Salmonella infection and see a doctor if they develop.

Symptoms of a Salmonella infection include fever, diarrhea that is sometimes bloody, vomiting and abdominal pain. Cases where the infection travels to the bloodstream can produce severe illnesses such as arterial infections.

The recalled products were sold nationwide between December 13, 2014 and April 21, 2016. A list of affected product lots AR:4338, 5096, 5191, 5289 and 6042. On foil bulk packages, the four-digit lot code will follow the item number (#2920) on the front label directly above the UPC code which is 0-89836-02920-1.
