Sinbad Foods in Detroit Recalls Tahini for Possible Salmonella

Sinbad Foods at 6251 Haggerty Road in West Bloomfield Township, near Detroit, Michigan, is recalling tahini, or sesame paste, for possible Salmonella contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product.

The recalled products include one pound containers of Tahina Telkef with numbersĀ 0200004506472 and 0200004406413 in the barcode. The two pound containers are also recalled; they have the numberĀ 0200000406295 in the barcode. These products were packed on October 7, 016 and have a sell by date of December 5, 2016. The Michigan Department of Agricultural and Rural Development discovered the contamination in routine testing.

If you purchased this product in either size, do not eat it. Throw it away in a sealed container so other people and animals can’t eat it, or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
