Sliced Chicken and Turkey Recalled in Canada for Possible Listeria

Tre Rose Bakery and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency are recalling sliced turkey and chicken products for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The products were sliced and sold at Tre Rose Bakery at 2098 Kipling Avenue in Toronto, Ontario from September 15, 2016 to September 16, 2016 inclusively. One illness has been reported in association with the consumption of these products.

Listeria Recall

The recalled products are Lily O.R. Turkey in variable sized packages. The code is PACKED ON SE.15.16 and the UPC number starts with 2 100252. Also recalled is Classic Turkey in variable size packages. The code is PACKED ON SE.15.16 and the UPC number starts with 2 100049. Finally, Brandt O.R. Chicken in variable size packages is recalled. The code on that product is PACKED ON SE.16.16 and the UPC number starts with 2 100042.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund. Then clean out your refrigerator with a mild bleach solution, since Listeria monocytogenes bacteria can grow at refrigerator temperatures. Wash your hands well after handling this product and cleaning.

If you ate any of this recalled meat, monitor yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes for the next 70 days. That’s how long it can take for symptoms to appear. Symptoms include high fever, vomiting, nausea, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
