Starbucks Edamame Hummus Wraps Recalled for Allergens

Flying Food Group of Texas is recalling 1,006 pounds of Starbucks Edamame Hummus Wrap products because they are mislabeled and may contain Thai Style Peanut Wraps, which are made with peanuts and tree nuts. These food allergens are not declared on the product label.

Starbucks Edamame Hummus Wrap RecallThe recalled product is 6.8 ounce containers of Starbucks brand “Edamame Hummus Wrap.” They have an “enjoy by” date of 2/19. The products do not have an establishment number on the label, since they are regulated by the FDA. They should contain hummus, but actually contain chicken, which makes them amenable to the Poultry Products Inspection Act. They were distributed to retail locations in Texas and Oklahoma.

The problem was discovered after a complaint was registered at a Starbucks store. As soon as Starbucks confirmed the error, the product was removed from the 559 Texas and Oklahoma stores that received it. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products.

If you purchase these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
