Surimi Recalled in Canada for Undeclared Egg

There have been a lot of recalls recently in Canada for seafood and seafood products for undeclared egg. We don’t know why; it just keeps happening. Now, Asian Star brand Shrimp Surimi and Lobster Tail Surimi are being recalled for undeclared egg. Anyone who is allergic to egg could have a serious reaction if they consume these products. No reported reactions have been received to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The products were made by A1 Ocean Fish Kosher Fish Market.

Asian Star Shrimp Shaped Surimi RecallThese products were sold nationally at the retail level. They include Asian Star Shrimp Shaped Surimi in 300 gram packages. The code is Production Date: 08 FEB2015 Best Before: 08 FEB and the UPC number is 0 85737 50300 0. The other recalled product is Asian Star Lobster Tail Shaped Surimi in 255 gram packages. The code on the product is Production Date: 08 FEB2015 Best Before: 08 FEB and the UPC number is 0 85737 50065 8.

If you purchased either of these products and are allergic to egg, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store where you bought them for a refund. You can see pictures of the recalled products at the CFIA web site.
