Tippin’s Key Lime Pie Recall for Undeclared Peanut Expanded

Tippin’s Gourmet Pies is updating their recall of Key Lime Pies for undeclared peanuts. The original recall was issued on June 21, 2016. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.

The recall was initiated after the Kellogg Company, supplier of the graham cracker crumbs used in this product, recalled them for undeclared peanut residue. The FDA states that “the amount of peanut exposure from the flour is low and not expected to cause adverse health effects in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers.”

The recalled product is Tippin’s Key Lime Pie in 8 inch containers. The UPC number is 680816050057 and the lot numbers are 04-26-16, 04-27-16, 05-03-16, 05-04-16, 05-17-16, and 05-31-16. The lot numbers 04-21-16, 04-25-16, 05-05-16, and 05-11-16 aren’t affected by this recall. It was sold to distributors in Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Illinois.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the store where you bought it for a refund.
