Trader Giotto’s Caesar Salad Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

Ghiringhelli Specialty Foods is recalling 2,444 pounds of poultry products for mislabeling and undeclared allergens. The product contains soy, wheat, and fish, three of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. The salad usually has the statement “May Contain Traces of Shellfish,” on the package, which is missing.

The salads had the correct label on the top, but have an incorrect back label for “Trader Joe’s Chicken & Roast Beet Salad.” Anyone who is allergic to wheat, soy, and/or fish could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. No reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled product is 9 ounce plastic clamshells with clear lid containing “Trader Giotto’s Caesar Salad with Chicken Breast.” It was produced on June 22, 2016. It has the plant number P-17156 inside the USDA mark of inspection and “USE BY 6/28” on the label. The salad was shipped to California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington state.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to soy, wheat, and/or fish, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
