Trader Joe’s, Costco Frozen Vegetables Recalled for Listeria

ConAgra Foods is recalling some Watts Brothers frozen vegetables sold at Costco and Trader Joe’s Sweet Corn for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. These products are part of the recent CRF Frozen Foods recall. Although there is an outbreak associated with CRF Frozen Foods, there are no illnesses reported to date connected to these particular recalled products.

The recalled products are Watts Brothers Farms Organic Mixed Vegetables in 5 pound packages, Watts Brothers Farms Organic Super Sweet Corn (Yellow/Gold) in 5 pound packages, and Watts Brothers Farms Organic Peas in 5 pound packages. Also reclaled is Trader Joe’s Organic Super Sweet Cut Corn in 16 ounce packages. The UPC number is 0029 9633, and the package codes are 6180 03237HH, 6180 03247HH, 6180 06287HH, 6180 06297HH, 6180 06307HH, 6180 07137HH, 6180 08117HH, 6180 08127HH, and 6180 08137HH.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. Clean out your refrigerator and/or freezer with a mild bleach solution to kill any remaining bacteria.

If you ate any of these recalled products, even if they were cooked, monitor yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. If they were cooked in the microwave oven, there could be some cold spots where the bacteria can survive.
