TreeHouse Amends Its Huge Recall of Products for Listeria

TreeHouse is amending its huge recall of products for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination to include two new items and add corrections. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.

Important RecallThe new products are Signature Kitchen Sweet & Salty Almond Bars with a UPC number of 2113028352 and a best by date of December 8, 2016. Also added to the recall is Southern Grove Roasted and Salted Sunflower Kernals with a UPC number of 041498206680 and a best by date of 2/28/2017.

The corrections are for three different products. The list of shipped product has also been updated. You can see these changes at the FDA web site.

Please look at the list carefully. Listeria monocytogenes can last for a long time, even on dry products, and it grows rapidly at room temperature. If you have any of these products in your home, throw it away in a sealed container or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

Then wash out your cupboards or pantry with a mild bleach solution to kill any remaining bacteria. If you ate any of these recalled products, watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. They include flu-like symptoms including fever, muscle aches, stiff neck, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
