Troyer Cheese Company Nuts, Pretzels, Mixes Recalled for Listeria

Recall Signs 3Troyer Cheese Inc. of Millersburg, OH has issued a Listeria recall for pretzels, nuts, and snack mixes. Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death.

The recalled products are:CRANBERRY NUT DELIGHT MIX PREPACK, sold in 12 and 9 oz sizes with UPC 0 49646 11038 ;  HONEY ISLAND CRUNCH MIX PREPACKAGED,  in 12 and 9 oz sizes with UPC 0 49646 10090 3; PRETZELS PEANUT BUTTER PREPACKAGED, in 12 and 9 oz sizes with UPC0 49646 12079 6; and WALNUT HALVES/PIECES PREPACKAGED in 12 and 9 oz sizes with UPC0 49646 12073 4.

The products, packaged at Amish Wedding Foods, were distributed by Troyer Cheese between May 6, 2016 and May 24, 2016 to the following states: AL, AR, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, NE, NJ, NY OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI & WV.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, seniors and others with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of an infection can take as long as 70 days to develop and include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Among pregnant women, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.
