Turkey Hill Recalls Ice Cream for Undeclared Allergens

Turkey Hill Dairy is recalling some of its Dutch Chocolate Premium Ice Cream because the package may contain Rocky Road Ice Cream instead. Those packages may include the undeclared ingredients almonds and eggs, which are two of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to eggs and/or tree nuts could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The cup of the affected package would read Dutch Chocolate Premium Ice Cream, and the package lid would read Rocky Road Premium Ice Cream. The package size is 48 ounces (1.5 QTS – 1.42L) and has the UPC numberĀ 20735-42095. The sell by date of the recalled product is May 23, 2017, printed on the bottom of the package. This product was sold at stores in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Alabama, Missouri, Ohio, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Illinois, and Tennessee.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to eggs and/or almonds, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. For anyone who is not allergic to almonds and eggs, there is no safety issue with the ice cream.
