Utz Pork Rinds Recalled for Undeclared Wheat

Savory Foods of Ohio is recalling 32,928 pounds of pork rind products because they contain wheat, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to wheat or who has celiac disease could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. There have been no confirmed reports of averse reactions linked to the consumption of this product.

The recalled product is Utz Hot and Spicy Pork Rinds chicharrones in 3.5 ounce plastic bags. The Use by codes are 2475 NOV 28/15 to 2475 DEC 9/16. The product has the establishment number “EST. 1001” printed by the use by date in the upper right hand side of the bag. The pork rinds were shipped to a distribution center in Pennsylvania.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to wheat or have celiac disease, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
