Weis Markets Recalls Bakery Items For Small Metal Fragments

Weis Markets is voluntarily recalling 30 bakery products because they may contain small metal fragments in the sugar topping. The company’s supplier recalled the sugar ingredient. These objects may cause minor injuries and irritation of the GI system. There have been no reports of adverse reactions or injuries due to the consumption of these products.

Recall Signs 3

The recalled muffins are packaged in a plastic medium container. The loaf bread and cookies are packaged in a plastic hinged container, and the Irish soda bread is packaged in a plastic bag. The sell by date is at the bottom of the scale label attached to the packaging.

You can see the long list of recalled products along with the UPC nubmer and the sell by dates at the FDA web site. The recalled items include Gourmet Cranberry Orange Monster Muffins, Banana Chocolate Chip Loaf Bread, Peach Melba Loaf Bread, Irish Soda Bread, Irish Soda Scones, Old Fashioned Shortcake, and Chocolate Sugar Cookies, among others.

If you purchased any of these items, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
