Weis Pizza Recalled for No Inspection

RFG Canada of Ontario is recalling about 1,250 pounds of meat and poultry pizza products imported from Canada because they were not inspected on entry into the United States. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. There have been no confirmed reports of illness associated with the consumption of these products.

The recalled products are 30.3 ounce packages of “WEIS Self-Rising Pizza; Chicken Bacon Ranch,” with UPC numberĀ 041497028337. The product’s Canada Establishment number is 411 and the best by date is May 16 2017. Also recalled is 20.2 ounce packages of “WEIS Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza 3 Pack” with the UPC numberĀ 041497026524 and Canada Establishment number 411. The best by date for that product is DEC 01 2016.

The pizzas were produced in Canada on March 3 and August 17, 2016 and imported to the U.S. on or around September 13, 2016. These pizzas were shipped to retail locations in Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania.

You can view labels of the recalled products at the USDA web site. If you purchased either of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
