Yoma Myanmar Tea Recalls Snack for Undeclared Peanuts

Yoma Myanmar Tea Co. of Massachusetts is recalling their “Tea Salad Snack” products because it may contain undeclared peanuts, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to peanuts could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Yoma Myanmar brand “Tea Salad Snack” in 7 ounce packages. The product comes in Regular and Spicy flavors. The product is in a clear plastic package marked with an expiration date of 6/15/2018 on the bottom. These products were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through m ail order.

A temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging processes was identified as the reason. Production has been suspended until the FDA and the company are sure the problem has been corrected.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to peanuts, don’t eat it. Throw it away or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
