Zzang! Candy Bars Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

The FDA’s Weekly Enforcement Report for the week of February 17, 2016 includes a recall for Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory Zzang! candy bars for undeclared allergens soy, and milk, two of the major food allergens. Anyone allergic to those ingredients could have a serious reaction if they consume these products. These products were sold in Michigan, New York, Ohio, California, Iowa, Illinois, New Hampshire, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Montana, Mississippi, Nevada, Tennessee, and Virginia.

RecallThe recalled products are Zzang! Original Candy Bar in 2.5 ounce containers, packaged in preprinted cardboard boxes. The UPC number is 8 44397 00014 0 and the sell by dates are 12/17/2015 and 3/16/2016 from Product/Catalog No. 100. That product is recalled for undeclared soy and milk.

Also recalled is Zzang! Cashew Cow Candy Bar in 2 ounce packages for undeclared soy. The UPC number is 8 44397 00015 7 and the sell by dates are 12/17/2015 and 2/16/2016 from Product/Catalog 12o.

Zzang! Wowza Candy Bars are also recalled, in 3 ounce packages, for undeclared soy and milk. The UPC number is 8 44397 00072 0 and the sell by dates are 12/17/2015 and 2/16/2016, Product/Catalog 160.

Zzang! Holiday 4 pack Candy Bars in 10.5 ounce packages are recalled for undeclared soy and milk. The sell by dates are 12/17/2015 and 3/16/2016 from Product/Catalog 100. And finally, Chocolate Marshmallows in 8 ounce plastic bags are recalled, with UPC number 8 44397 00077 5. The sell by date is 12/24/15 and the product is recalled for undeclared soy.

If you purchased any of these products and are allergic to soy and/or milk, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
