Carriage House Sauces Recalled for Allergens

Carriage House Creations is recalling some of its sauces because they contain undeclared soy and peanuts, two of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to those ingredients could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. No confirmed illnesses have been reported to date.

The products were distributed in Pennsylvania in Reynoldsville, Shippensburg, Dallas, Johnstown, New Germany, Tipton, Bedford, Nicktown, Harrisburg, Benezette, and Bellefonte through gift shows, wine festivals, craft shows and retail stores. The products were also sold through the company’s on-line store and mail order.

The recalled products are Bourbon Basting Sauces in 12 ounce glass bottles with these names: Mild Bourbon Basting Sauce, Bold and Spicy Bourbon Basting Sauce, and Hot Bourbon Basting Sauce. Hot Barbecue Sauce, packaged in 16 ounce glass jars, is also recalled. The products were sold from August 23 until December 30, 2016. The best if used by codes are 2232018 to 5302018.

The Worcestershire Sauce ingredient in these products was recalled because it contained undeclared soy and peanuts. If you purchased these products and cannot eat soy and/or peanuts, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
