Chip’n Dipped Expands Recall of Chocolate for Undeclared Milk

Chip’n Dipped is expanding its recall of its dark chocolate bars to include more types. The recall was issued because the products contain undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens. One illness has been reported to date in connection with this issue.

These products were distributed to seven retail stores in New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. The newly recalled products are Dark Chocolate Almond, net weight 3.0 ounces, with lot numbers 1100535, 1100526, 1100518, 1100519, 1100452, 1100450, 1100482, 1100482; 63% Dark Chocolate, net weight 2.9 ounce, with lot numbers 1100536, 1100501, 1100474, 1100458; Dark Chocolate Pretzel, net weight 2.9 ounce, with lot numbers 1100531, 1100512, 1100456. 1100489, and Hot Dark Chocolate Habanero, with net weight 2.8 ounce and lot numbers 1100457, 1100471, 1100490.

Also recalled is Dark Chocolate Marshmallow, net weight 3.1 ounce with lot numbers 1100498, 1100505, 1100513, 1100530; Extra Dark Chocolate 72% net weight 2.8 ounce with lot numbers 1100515 & 1100516; and Super Smooth Dark Chocolate 86% net weight 2.8 ounce with lot numbers 1100534, 1100533, 1100532. Lot numbers are stamped on the back of the packaging box. Individual bars are unmarked.

If you purchased these products and you are allergic to milk or lactose intolerant, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.
