Creation Gardens Recalls Beef for Possible E. coli O157:H7

Creation Gardens of Kentucky is recalling 22,832 pounds of raw ground beef and beef primal cut products for possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination. There have been no reports of illness received to date in connection with this issue.

You can see the long list of recalled products, along with the package sizes and product codes, at the USDA web site. They include 80/20 coarse ground beef, Angus 4-1 beef patties, BFresh Beef Slider, Black Hawk Beef Patties, and 75/25 ground beef, among others. They have the establishment number “EST. 7914” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to food service locations inĀ Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.

The problem was discovered on June 5, 2017 when plant management notified FSIS in-plant inspection personnel of two positives for E. coli O157:H7 test results.

If you bought any of these products, do not eat them. Discard them in a sealed container, or return them to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.

    Were the beef products sold with the brand name “Creation Gardens” or thru grocery stores with another name?

      No brand name was given in the recall notice. You can identify the products by the establishment number, which is inside the USDA mark of inspection, and the product codes listed at the USDA web site. The establishment number is “EST. 7914.” They were shipped to food service facilities in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.
