F.B. Packing Recalls Shaved Beef for Foreign Materials

F.B. Packing of Massachusetts is recalling 8,430 pounds of shaved beef products because they may be contaminated with plastic. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions received to date. The product contains visible, long thin strands of clear soft plastic rom packaging material.

The recalled items include 10 pound poly bag packages containing thin slicedĀ (shaved) pieces of “Frank Bertolino Beef Co. Inc. Certified Angus Beef XL Shaved Steak” with case code 71888. Also recalled isĀ 10 pound poly bag packages containing thin-sliced (shaved) pieces of “Bellissimo Silver Beef Shaved Steak,” with case code 71882. The products were produced on December 21, 2016. They have the establishment number “EST. 17994A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They have a “Use by” date of 7/21/2017 and were shipped to retail locations in Illinois and Massachusetts.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
