Flour Recall for E. coli O121 Updated Again in Canada

The food recall warning issued on April 12, 2017 in Canada for flour that may be contaminated with E. coli O121 has been updated again. There is an outbreak associated with flour in that country, but the notice states that “there have been no confirmed illnesses associated with the products identified in this Food Recall Warning.”

You can see the long list of recalled products, along with the brand name, common name, codes on the product, UPC number, photos, and additional information at the CFIA web site. The recalled brands this time include Creative Baker and Robin Hood. The common names of the products recalled include Best for Blending Flour, All Purpose Flour, All Purpose Flour, Unbleached, All Purpose Flour, Original, and Bread and Roll Mix Homestyle.

If you purchased any of these products, do not use them, even if you are going to bake with them. Throw them away in a secure garbage can in a double wrapped package to prevent other people or animals from getting to them. Wash your hands carefully with soap and water after handling these products.
