King’s Pastry Canada Recalls Cakes Sold in U.S. for Undeclared Nuts

King’s Pastry in Canada is recalling cakes because they contain hazelnuts, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. The products were sold in Illinois, Hawaii, Massachusetts, and New York. Anyone who is allergic to tree nuts could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat this product. One complaint has been received in connection with the consumption of this product.

Tuxedo Bar Cake Recall

The recalled products are Tuxedo Bar Cake 12″ x 4″ in 1050 gram packages with UPC numbers 685961100381 and 685961101234. Also recalled is Chocolate Bar Cake in 12″ x 4″ size in 1050 gram packages with UPC number 685961101357. Bakewell Desserts Chocolate Lava Cake 4″ x 4″ in 4 ounce packages is also recalled, with UPC number 685961103092. Cappuccino Carnival Cake in 2.0 kg packages is recalled, with UPC number 10685961100814. Finally, Mango Carnival Cake in 2.5 kg packages with UPC number 10685961100913 is recalled.

The Tuxedo Bar Cake and Chocolate Bar Cake are packaged in a clear rectangular semi-rigid plastic dome with a black base. The Chocolate Lava Cake is packaged in a clear square-shaped rigid plastic container sealed with a plastic film, this container is then packaged in a square-shaped thin cardboard box. The Cappuccino Carnival Cake and Mango Carnival Cake are packaged in cardboard tray and are only sold in cafeteria. The purchase dates of these products is before January 01, 2017.

If you purchased any of these products and are allergic to hazelnuts, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store where you bought them for a refund.
