La Granja Recalls Mango Ice Cream for Salmonella Enteritidis

La Granja INC of Georgia is recalling 4000 units of Hand crafted Paleteria, Mango Flavored Ice Cream because it may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis, a bacteria that can cause serious illness. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue.

La Granja Ice Cream RecallThe recalled product was distributed in Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina through retail stores, and by direct delivery. The popsicle comes in a clear bag with La Granja logo, Mango Flavor Ice Cream and the dates of expiration are 210218 (February 21, 2018) and 280218 (February 28, 2018). UPC code 0010439212.

The recall was the result of routine sampling by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away in a sealed or double bagged package or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The symptoms of a Salmonella infection include stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Most people recover without medical care, but some can become so ill they must be hospitalized. The long term complications of a Salmonella infection can include reactive arthritis, high blood pressure, and digestive issues.
