Lidia’s Marinara Sauce Recalled Due to Undeclared Milk

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that Nonna Foods, based in Woodbury, New York, has recalled its “Lidia’s Marinara Sauce” product because it may contain undeclared milk allergens. According to the FDA, the mislabeling occurred when 750 jars of “Lidia’s Vodka Sauce,” which contains milk, were inaccurately packaged with the “Lidia’s Marina Sauce” labels. “Lidia’s Marinara Sauce” itself does not contain milk.

The milk allergen-containing vodka sauce was packaged in 25-ounce glass jars with metal lids. The affected jars are stamped with a “Best By Date” of June 13, 2019 on the neck of the jar; the UPC code, located on the back of the jar below the “Nutrition Facts” panel, is: 897712001018.

Cases of the mislabeled sauce were shipped across the United States. The specific states where it was distributed are: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana. Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Milk allergens can cause serious injury or death in those who are allergic to them. Anyone who purchased this product should either throw it away or return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. Lidia's Marinara Sauce Recall
