Mountain House Breakfast Hash Recalled for Possible Foreign Materials Contamination

OFD Foods, LLC. has initiated a Class I (“High Health Risk”) recall of its “MOUNTAIN HOUSE FREEZE DRIED SPICY SOUTHWEST BREAKFAST HASH.” According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), this product may contain extraneous rubber materials; an employee is reported to have discovered pieces of rubber in the product on June 12, 2017. OFD Foods is based in Albany, Oregon.

Almost 197 pounds of the freeze-dried beef hash product has been recalled. Manufactured on Dec. 22, 2016 and distributed nationwide through internet sales, it was packaged in 3.88-ounce pouches stamped with the pouch code of “3253174” and a “Best By” date of Dec. 2046. The pouches bear the establishment number “EST. 1394” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Class I recalls signify that there is a significant danger that people who consume a product may suffer adverse health consequences. Consumers who purchased the freeze-dried hash should throw it away or return it to the store for a refund.Mountain House Breakfast Hash Recall
