Restoration Hardware Recalls Dining Tables for Lead

Restoration Hardware is recalling metal top dining tables because of a risk of lead exposure. Lead is a toxic heavy metal and can cause adverse health effects if ingested. Children can suffer reduced IQ, develop learning disabilities, have stunted growth, hearing damage, and damage to the nervous system and kidneys if they have elevated lead levels in their blood.

Restoration Hardware Lead Recalled Table

The recall is for Restoration Hardware’s Railroad Tie & Parsons Railroad Tie dining tables. The recalled tables are round or rectangular with thin sheets of zinc/dark gray color metal on the table tops. The item number is printed on a white sticker underneath the tabletop. You can see the types of tables along with their item numbers at the CPSC.gov web site.

Restoration Hardware has received reports of elevated blood lead levels in four children in two homes where there was a recalled table. One of the incidents was in Cranston, Rhode Island, and the other was in Beverly Hills, California. Two children were involved in each incident.

The tables were sold at Restoration Hardware Outlet stores nationwide and online at Restorationhardware.com from March 2012 through December 2016. They were sold for between $750 and $2600. The tables were imported from India by Restoration Hardware.

If you have one of these tables in your home, stop using it immediately. Cover the table and put the table out of the reach of children. Contact Restoration Hardware for a replacement table or a refund.
