Salted Caramel Chocolate Almond Pie Recalled

Chocolate Caramel Pie RecallLegendary Baking, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, has issued and expanded a recall of its Salted Carmel Chocolate Almond Pie product. The two allergens that the pies contain – eggs and almonds – were not properly declared on the packaging’s ingredient list.

As reported by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the pies were distributed in 34-ounce packages to Kroger, Smith’s, and Fry’s retail grocery stores in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia Illinois, Indiana Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia. They were also sent to Fred Meyer, City Market, and King Soopers stores in Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

The 34-ounce plastic dome packages have a clear top and a black plastic base; the clear dome is marked with lot number #CH17025. Almonds and eggs pose the risk of life-threatening anaphylaxis shock if they are consumed by individuals who are allergic to them. People who purchased these packages should dispose of them or return them to the store for a full refund.
