Some MacroBars and Thrive Bars Recalled for Possible Listeria

GoMacro of Wisconsin is recalling some of their MacroBars and Thrive Bars because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. These products were distributed across the nation and internationally through retail stores, mail order, and direct delivery. No illnesses have been reported.

The company’s almond supplier has recalled that product for possible contamination. The recalled products are Coconut + Almond Butter + Chocolate Chips MacroBar in 2.3 ounce packages, with UPC number 853555006689 and best by dates 1/3/2018, 1/10/2018, 1/16/2018, 1/26/2018, and 2/6/2018 and respective lot codes 3516, 3525,  3536, 3553, and 3571. Also recalled is Coconut + Almond Butter + Chocolate Chips Mini MacroBar in 0.9 ounce packages, with UPC number 853555006719, best by dates 1/16/2018 and 2/6/2018 and lot codes 3537 and 3570. Chocolate, Nuts & Sea Salt Thrive Bar in 1.4 ounce packages is recalled, with UPC number 853555006504, best by dates 2/6/2018 and 2/9/2018 and lot codes 3569 and 3576. Finally, Caramel Coconut Thrive Bar in 1.4 ounce packages and UPC number 853555006528 is recalled, with best by date 2/6/2018 and lot code 3568.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a secure garbage receptacle or return them to the store where you purchased them. If you ate these products, watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Symptoms include fever, stiff neck, headache, and other symptoms of food poisoning, or this illness can present as the flu. If you do feel sick, see your doctor.
