Uncle Guiseppe’s Pork Products Recalled for Undeclared Milk

Picone Meat Specialties is recalling about 5,750 pounds of salami products for misbranding and undeclared nonfat dry milk, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is lactose intolerant or is allergic to milk could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. No reactions have been reported to date.

These dry fermented salami products were produced from April 1, 2016 through January 18, 2017. You can see the long list of recalled products along with the package sizes, pictures of labels, and case codes at the USDA web site. The products include Uncle Guiseppe’s Sweet Soppressata Salami, Spicy Dry Salami, Sweet Dry Salami, Giorgio’s Cacciatorino Piccante, and Giorgio’s Cacciatorino Dolce, among others. They all have the establishment number “EST. M4445′ inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to retail locations in New York.

If you purchased any of these products and can’t eat milk, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
