Ladyfingers Gourmet to Go Country Ham Rolls Johnston County Ham Recall Listeria s

On October 3, 2018, Ladyfingers Caterers was notified that the Johnson County Ham products they used may have been contaminated. All Ladyfingers Gourmet to Go Signature Shaved Country Ham Rolls currently on the market are being recalled.

The rolls have the UPC numberĀ 8 56149 00509 9. They were distributed to retail stores inĀ California, District of Columbia, Delaware, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina and Virginia from April 3, 2017 to October 3, 2018.

The symptoms of listeriosis, the illness caused by this pathogen, include high fever, stiffness, nausea, severe headache, muscle aches, and diarrheas. The people who develop the most serious illness are the elderly, the very young, and pregnant women. In fact, pregnant women may suffer miscarriages and stillbirths if they contract this infection, even though they may only have a mild, flu-like illness.

One of the strange things about listeriosis is that it can take up to 70 days to appear. That means that if you ate this recalled product, you need to monitor your health for these symptoms for the next two months. If you do feel ill, see your doctor and tell her about this recall.

If you bought this product, do not eat it. Check your freezer to see if it is in your home. If you have some, throw them away in a sealed bag. You can take the rolls back to the store where you bought them for a refund.
