Iowa Salmonella Linked to Big G’s Potato Salad

Potato salad from a Big G Food Store in Marengo, Iowa is the source of a Salmonella outbreak, according to state health officials. Consumers who have purchased Big G’s “Zesty Potato Salad” and “Traditional Potato Salad”recently should not eat it. The Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA) and the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) issued a consumer advisory for potato salads made and sold at the Marengo store. Initial results of tests performed by the State Hygienic Laboratory at the University of Iowa indicate the products are contaminated by Salmonella. The Big G Food Store removed the salads from the store on Friday.
