Hot Dog Recall in Canada

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Glatt’s Kosher Meat Products are recalling some beef frankfurters because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The product details are:

  • Glatt’s brand Beef Frankfurters Jumbo BBQ
    • 375 gram packages
    • UPC number 0 55627 00203 6
    • Best Before date of 12AL21
    • Distributed in Ontario and Quebec

There have not been any reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause serious and life-threatening infections, especially for pregnant women, the very young, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. It’s important to note that pregnant women may only experience a mild flu-like illness, but an infection with Listeria can cause miscarriages and stillbirth.
