In Canada, Cookies Recalled for Undeclared Peanuts and Almonds

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Allcity Importers Inc. are recalling Imei fried cookies because they contain almonds and peanuts, two of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. Anyone with an allergy to tree nuts and/or peanuts could have a serious reaction if they consume these products. There is no information about whether or not any adverse reactions have been reported.

Recall SignageThe recalled products are Imei brand in 115 gram containers. The first is Seaweed Fried Cookies with UPC numberĀ 4710126010086 and product code 20150115. The second is Sesame Fried Cookies with UPC numberĀ 4710126010079 and product code 20141005. They were sold in Alberta and British Columbia at the retail level.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to peanuts and/or tree nuts, do not eat them. Return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
