La Finquita Cheese Recalls Fresh Farmer’s Cheese for Undeclared Nuts

La Finquita Queisto Fresco RecallLa Finquita of Stamford, Connecticut is recalling one lot of La Finquita Quesito Fresco Campesino Fresh Farmer’s Cheese because it may be adulterated with tree nuts and peanuts. Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts or pistachios (tree nuts) could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses or complaints have been reported to date.

The recalled product is labeled as La Finquita Quesito Fresco Campesino/Fresh Farmer’s Cheese. It was packaged in a 14.11 ounce plastic container with UPC number 0 94922 76809 4 and with a sell by date of 06/28/14. It was distributed through retail stores in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York.

The recall was initiated after the milk supplier said the milk used to make the cheese may have been contaminated with the nuts. If you purchased this product and are allergic to peanuts and/or tree nuts, do not eat it. Return to the place of purchase for a refund or discard. No other products are affected by this recall.
