Recall of Lilydale Chicken and Turkey for Listeria Updated

The recall of Lilydale oven roasted chicken breast and turkey breast for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination has been updated. No illnesses have been reported to date, but the illness caused by this pathogenic bacteria can take up to 2 months to appear.

Lilydale Turkey Breast Listera RecallThe already recalled product is Lilydale Oven Roasted Carved Chicken Breast in 400 gram containers, with best before dates up to and including 2015 AL 28 and UPC number 0 65843 83104 4. The newly recalled product is Lilydale Oven Roasted Carved Turkey Breast in 400 gram packages with best before dates up to and including 2015 AL 10 and UPC number 0 65843 83210 2. They were sold nationwide.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Discard in a double bagged container or return to the place of purchase for a refund, then wash your hands thoroughly. Clean out your refrigerator with a mild bleach solution to kill bacteria.

If you ate either of these recalled products, monitor yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include nausea, vomiting, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. If you do get sick, see your doctor immediately. Pregnant women may only have a mild flu-like illness, but this illness can cause stillbirth, miscarriage, and a serious infection in the newborn baby.
