Recall of Longo’s Meat Products for E. coli O157:H7 Updated

The food recall warning issued on April 21, 2017 in Canada for possible E. coli O157:H7 in Longo’s meat products has been updated to include more products. Now, more than ground veal is being recalled.

The products were sold from the Longo Brothers Fruit Market located at 5636 Glen Erin Drive, Mississauga, Ontario. You can see the long list of recalled products, along with the package sizes, codes on the product, and UPC numbers at the CFIA web site. The newly recalled products include Ground Beef, Extra Lean Ground Beef, Medium Ground Beef, All Beef Lean Patties, All Beef Meatballs, and All Beef Meatloaf, among others.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them, even if you are going to cook them thoroughly. Cross-contamination between raw meat and other foods is a real possibility. Throw them away in a sealed or double bagged package or take them back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
