Sandwiches Recalled From Target, Walgreens, for Listeria

Greencore, USA is voluntarily recalling egg salad sandwiches, ham salad sandwiches, and seafood stuffing because Listeria monocytogenes bacteria was fond in environmental sampling conducted by the FDA. No finished products have been found to have this pathogenic bacteria, and no confirmed illnesses have been reported.

The sandwiches were distributed between September 24 and 27, 2017, to American Food and Vending, Hannaford Brothers, Target, and Turkey Hill in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and New York. In addition, Hannaford Brothers Seafood Stuffing with lot codes between 10/2/17 and 10/19/17 is recalled.

The recalled products are Hannaford Egg Salad Club Roll in 5.1 ounce containers, with UPC number 4126816587 and use by dates of 9/28/17 – 10/2/17; Ham Salad Club Roll in 5.1 ounce packages with UPC number 4126816589, and use by dates of 9/28/17 – 10/2/17; and Seafood Stuffing, in 10 ounce packages with UPC number 4126820509 and use by dates of 10/2/17 – 10/19/17. Also recalled is Walgreens Egg salad on White Bread in 6. 1 ounce packages, with UPC number 4902272043 and use by dates 9/29/17 – 10/1/17, and Target Egg salad on White Bread in 5.9 ounce packages, with UPC number 7350875792 and use by dates of 9/29/17 – 10/1/17.

Turkey Hill Fresh Selects Egg salad on Homestyle Bread in 4.7 ounce packages, with UPC number 7350875001 and use by dates of 9/29/17 – 10/1/17 are recalled, as well as their Ham Salad on Homestyle Bread, in 4.9 ounce packages, with UPC number 7350875003 and use by dates of 9/29/17 – 10/1/17. Finally, American Food and Vending Enza Choice Egg Salad on White Bread in 4.7 ounce packages, with UPC number 7350875735 and use by date of 10/1/17; and Enza Choice Ham Salad on White Bread, with UPC number 7350875815 and use by date of 10/1/17 are recalled. If you bought any of these products, don’t eat them. Throw them away in a sealed package or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.

If you ate any of these products, watch yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days. Those symptoms can include high fever, stiff neck, headache, muscle aches, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Pregnant women may only have a mild flu-like illness, but listeriosis can cause stillbirth and miscarriage. If you do feel sick, see your doctor.
