Simple Truth Dry Roasted Macadamia Nuts Recalled for Possible Listeria

Kroger is recalling Simple Truth Dry Roasted Macadamia Nuts sold in Greater Cincinnati for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. There is no word on whether or not any illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Simple Truth Roasted Macadamia Nuts in 12 ounce containers. The UPC number is 11110-02478 and the code date is Sell By: MAY 02 18. The nuts were sold in Kroger stores located in Greater Cincinnati (including Northern Kentucky and Dayton, Ohio plus South Eastern Indiana); Dillons, Baker’s and Gerbes Stores.

If you purchased this product do not eat it. Throw it away in a sealed or double bagged package or take it back to the store where you bought it for a full refund.

Clean out your pantry with a mild bleach solution to kill bacteria. And wash your hands well with soap and water after handling this product.

If you ate any of the nuts, watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Symptoms include high fever, stiff neck, severe headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Pregnant women may only be mildly ill with a flu-like illness, but listeriosis can cause miscarriage, stillbirth, premature labor, and infection in the newborn. If you do feel sick, see your doctor.
