Iceberg, Original Augustin Ice Cream Recalled For Foreign Material

Agropur Cooperative is recalling Iceberg, Ideale, and Originale Augustin brand ice cream sandwiches, ice cream, and frozen yogurt that were sold in Ontario and Quebec, Canada because they may be contaminated with foreign materials, more specifically fine metal particles. This recall was updated on July 26, 2019 to include more product information.

The presence of these particles can pose a choking hazard and potential mouth injury hazard. No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date to the company or the government in connection with this problem.

The original recall, dated July 20, 2019, was for Iceberg Mega Sandwiches Vanilla Ice Cream with UPC number 74276 11816, and Originale Augustin Mega Sandwich Vanilla Ice Cream with UPC number 74276 11885.

The updated recall added frozen yogurt products and regular ice cream to the recall list. Some of those recalled products include Ideale Vanilla Ice Cream with UPC number 74276 12707, Ideale Strawberry Ice Cream with UPC number 74276 12711, Ideale Butterscotch Ice Cream with UPC number 74276 12709, Iceberg Premium Vanilla Ice Cream with UPC number 74276 13300, and Originale Augustin Frozen Yogurt Slices with UPC number 74276 13503. You can see the long list of recalled products, along with the package sizes, pictures of product labels, and lot numbers, at the CFIA web site.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed package in a secure garbage can, or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund. The CIFA is verifying that the company is removing the recalled products from store shelves.
