Stehouwer’s Frozen Foods Recalls Pigs in the Blanket for Undeclared Milk

Stehouwer’s Frozen Foods is recalling about 6,039 pounds of Pigs in the Blanket product because of misbranding and an allergen, milk, that is not declared on the label. There have not been any reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

The products include 13.5 pound cases of “Stehouwer’s Pigs in the Blanket.” Each case has 12 individual 18-ounce packages. The products were produced on September 27, October 25, and December 13, 2012, and have use by dates of September 27, October 25, and December 13, 2013. Also recalled are 5 pound bulk packages of “Stehouwer’s Pigs in the Blanket.” These packages are labeled “for institutional use only”. They were produced on October 25, 2012, and have a use by date of October 25, 2013. Each case and package has the establishment number “EST. 6814” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were distributed for institutional use and to retail stores in Michigan.
