USDA Recalling Uninspected Pork Shoulder

Lawson Foods LLC of Irvington, New Jersey is recalling about 84,587 pounds of pork product, since it contains pork from Canada that was not properly presented for re-inspection upon entry into the United States.

Product details:

  • Various weight cases of “PORK SHOULDER BUTTS”
  • Identifying case code of “30312.”
  • Establishment number “34227” inside the USDA mark of inspection
  • Produced on March 3, 2012
  • Distributed to one wholesale firm in New Jersey

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) discovered the problem when the imported product didn’t arrive from Canada at the designated time. The product, which was inspected and passed by Canadian authorities, entered the country earlier.
