Niman Ranch Ham Recalled for No Establishment Number

Mary Ann’s Specialty Foods of Iowa is recalling 3,536 pounds of ham because the establishment number was not included on the label. The number is a regulatory requirement of the USDA.

The recalled product is Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Petite Ham with these use by/freeze by dates: 2/5/2014, 2/10/2014, 2/11/2013, and 2/13/2013. The package covered by the recall may lack the establishment number “1221W” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were distributed to retail stores nationwide and produced between October 23, 2013 and October 31, 2013. The problem was discovered by FSIS inspection personnel during routine label inspection.
