Safeway Snack Artist BBQ Potato Chips Recalled for Undeclared Allergen

Sue Safeway - Recall LawsuitBarrel O’ Fun Snack Foods Co. of Perham, MN is recalling one lot of Safeway Snack Artist BBQ Potato Chips because they contain undeclared milk. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk should not eat the recalled product as they run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions.

snack-artist-recallSymptoms of an adverse reaction include itching, hives, wheezing, vomiting, anaphylaxis and digestive problems, such as bloating, gas or diarrhea. No illnesses have been reported.

The recall affects only Safeway Snack Artist BBQ Potato Chips bearing the UPC number 21130-29106 and the Best By date of 08JAN2014 3255M27 which is printed on the he upper right side of the front of the bags.

The recalled product was packaged in 10 oz bags and distributed by Safeway Inc. across Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, South Dakota, and New Mexico. No other lots or snack products are affected.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that bags marked as BBQ flavored potato chips inadvertently contained Sour Cream & Onion flavored potato chips, which contain milk. The presence of the milk was not declared.
