Dark Chocolate Cherries Recalled for Undeclared Nuts

chocolate-cherries-recallNext By Nature Dark Chocolate Cherries  are being recalled for undeclared nuts. People with sensitivities or allergies to nuts should not eat this product as they risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they do.

The recalled products, made by Tropical Valley Foods Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY, were sold in Iowa, California, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Canada and Japan.

The recalled products were distributed  between September 12th, 2014 and September 25th, 2014 in cases, 12 bags to case. The 3 oz. plastic bags have the  UPC 817582252006, Lot 460013 and “Best by Date” of 2016.03.31.

The recall was initiated after an employee discovered a peanut piece in one of the packages. To date, no illnesses have been reported in association with this problem.
