Pork Snout Blood Sausage Recalled for Undeclared Allergen

Pork snout blood sausage made by CS Best Food Inc. of Panorama City, Calif.  is being recalled because it contains the undeclared allergens wheat and soy. People with allergies to these ingredients should not eat this product as they run the risk of sever allergic reaction if they do.  There had been no reports of sadverse reactions at the time of the recall.

blood-sausage-recallThe company is recalling approximately 6,560 pounds of blood sausage link products produced between Aug. 28 and Oct. 17, 2014 and shipped to retail locations in California and Washington. The recalled products include: 1-lb. vacuum-packed packages containing 2 sausage link pieces of “A Pork Snout, Beef Blood, Rice & Noodle Link” and 5-lb. vacuum-packed packages containing multiple sausage link pieces of “A Pork Snout, Beef Blood, Rice & Noodle Link.” The establishment number “EST. 40119” is stamped inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA FSIS) during a routine label review. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
